Opis pozicije
The Institute for Quantitative Biosciences (IQB), The University of Tokyo, invites applications for a full professor position.
IQB was established in 2018 to foster quantitative biosciences at the University of Tokyo. The University's research-strengthening reforms provide an opportunity to expand our research scope and to recruit a new member who can help shape our future scientific and institutional leadership.
We are interested in candidates who combine:
a distinguished record of original and influential research, together with an ambitious future research plan;
a vision to develop or integrate enabling technologies and quantitative approaches that open new biological questions;
the capacity to lead interdisciplinary research, mentor the next generation of scientists and contribute to a strong research culture.
The search is open to all areas of quantitative biosciences, including but not limited to neuroscience and behavioural biology; immunology, cancer biology and disease biology; systems and synthetic biology; quantitative imaging and measurement technologies; single-cell, spatial and multi-omics technologies; structural and molecular biology; computational biology and quantitative modelling; genome, chromatin and RNA biology; and programmable biological intervention and molecular/cellular engineering.
The successful candidate will play a central role in shaping IQB's future research direction, strengthening its international profile and contributing to institute-level strategy implementation.
Further details about IQB, the research environment, and the application process can be found on our webpages. Appointment is subject to the University of Tokyo's formal appointment and employment procedures. For inquiries, please contact soumu@iqb.u-tokyo.ac.jp.
Applications close on September 30, approximately three months after publication.
