NTU AI-for-X Postdoctoral Fellowship 2026 - Advancing AI for STEM Discovery

The Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU), in partnership with Singapore’s National Research Foundation (NRF), is pleased to invite applications for the NTU AI-for-X Postdoctoral Fellowship (AI4X-PDF) 2026.

This prestigious new scheme supports outstanding early-career researchers who wish to apply Artificial Intelligence (AI) to accelerate scientific discovery in any domain of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics including medicine (STEM). The NTU AI4X-PDF seeks to nurture the next generation of interdisciplinary research leaders who will drive breakthroughs at the convergence of AI and scientific research while strengthening Singapore's AI-for-Science ecosystem.

Key Features

Eligibility

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • PhD (or equivalent) conferred in 2023 or later in any STEM field

  • Strong academic and research record

  • A compelling research proposal that clearly integrates AI to solve a scientific problem

  • Must identify an NTU faculty member as a Project Mentor

  • Available to commence the fellowship by 31 March 2027

Each selected Fellow will be paired with:

  • A Project Mentor in their research field

  • An AI Mentor (assigned or selected post-award) to support AI integration

Application Process

Applications must be submitted in electronic format via NTU Online Application Portal.

Submission Deadline: 30 Oct 2026, 23:59hr (Singapore Time, UTC/GMT+8).

Required Documents:

  • Cover letter Comprehensive CV (including full publication list)

  • Official PhD transcript or certificate (in English)

  • Research proposal (maximum 2 pages)

  • Top 3 publications (in PDF format)

  • Letter of support from the NTU Project Mentor (Attach the mentor letter together with the research proposal as a single file)

  • Contact details of 2 referees, one of whom must be the PhD supervisor

  • Any other supporting documents (if applicable)
