Biografija
Dr Nevena Hromiš is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Technology Novi Sad (FOTNS), University of Novi Sad, in the field of Food Engineering. She received her Ph.D. in Technological Engineering in 2015. Her doctoral research focused on the development of biodegradable active packaging materials based on chitosan, including synthesis, optimization, characterization and application. Her research is focused on food and pharmaceutical packaging, biodegradable and active packaging materials, edible films and coatings, and the valorization of agro-industrial by-products for sustainable packaging applications. She has extensive experience in packaging testing and quality assurance through the ISO/IEC 17025-accredited Laboratory for Packaging and Packaging at FOTNS, where she has served as Laboratory Operations Coordinator since 2011 and Quality Manager since 2020. Her teaching activities have primarily included laboratory and practical classes in food and pharmaceutical packaging, packaging quality control, and quality management. She has also been actively involved in supporting students in the experimental work and preparation of undergraduate and master’s theses and contributed to the activities of the Scientific Section of the Faculty of Technology Novi Sad. She has authored and co-authored more than 150 scientific publications and conference contributions as well as five chapters in international books. According to Scopus, she has 41 indexed documents, more than 625 citations, and an h-index of 12. She is the co-author of three technical solutions and regularly serves as a reviewer for international scientific journals and scientific conferences in the field of food engineering, packaging, and related areas.
